LIFE IN A YEAR: LESSONS LEARNT IN THE YEAR 2020

Hi beautiful people, a lot has happened this year but here you are reading this post. I was rewatching the movie ‘Life in a year’ for the umpeenth time this year when this post came to mind.

2020 has been the roughest year for most people, I have lost a lot of people this year, lost so many opportunities due to the pandemic but despite being a rough year—2020 was still a year of awakening for most of us. Here are a few lessons I have learnt in the year 2020;

✓ Just do it

You want to open that business, write that book, be more consistent, take a day off, practice self care—just do it. Time waits for no one. Don’t procrastinate.

✓ You only have this moment, you can’t live 31/12/2020 twice.

✓ You are not lazy if you aren’t productive all the time. Taking a time off for yourself is not lazy or selfish.

✓ Don’t give way for fear, don’t let fear control you.

✓ Be grateful even for the seemingly little things.

✓ Don’t judge, hear the other person out first.

LIFE IN A YEAR

Safe to say 2020 is a wrap. This year was definitely my year of awakening. I became more intentional about a lot of things. I have learnt so much this year and I hope to apply them next year. I don’t have anything planned out for the new year yet but I hope to be a better version of myself. I am also grateful to every who has supported my blog this year.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you an amazing and blissful 2021. Happy new year in advance.

  1. Practice gratitude

It’s a season to be thankful. Take time to notice and reflect upon the things you are thankful for experience more positive emotions, feel more alive, sleep better, express more compassion and kindness. I would recommend you keep a gratitude journal. Write what you are grateful for—this is the best time to remind yourself. Practicing gratitude help to set an uplifting mood throughout the day.

2. Rest up

Relax, recover, recuperate and regain your energy.  You deserve that day off to rest, you have worked through the entire year.
